Superbill & HSA / FSA
MindCare is an out-of-network practice. Many patients get partial reimbursement from their insurer using a superbill, and HSA / FSA funds can be used directly.
What's a superbill?
A superbill is an itemized receipt that includes everything your insurance company needs to process an out-of-network reimbursement claim — your diagnosis code (ICD-10), procedure codes (CPT), date of service, clinician credentials, and our practice tax ID and NPI.
How to use it
- Pay for your visit at the time of service.
- We email you a superbill within 48 hours.
- Submit it to your insurer through their member portal or by mail.
- Your insurer reimburses you directly based on your out-of-network benefits.
Before your first visit
Call the member-services number on the back of your insurance card and ask:
- Do I have out-of-network outpatient mental health benefits?
- What is my out-of-network deductible, and how much have I met?
- What percentage do you reimburse for CPT codes 90792, 99214, and 99215?
- How do I submit a superbill?
HSA & FSA
Psychiatric care is an eligible expense for both Health Savings Accounts (HSA) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA). You can use your HSA or FSA debit card directly at checkout, or pay out of pocket and reimburse yourself from your account.
